Criminal activity to have sex at aged between 12 & 16 years

According to a section of the Sexual Offences Act No. 32 of 2007, consexual sex between children aged 12 to 16 is a criminal activity. The type of a law has resulted in three children at the Jules High School being charged with a statutory rape. The Children Rights groups are challenging the constitutionality of this laws.

Some people do believe that these children were not supposed to be charged. The reason being is that the law was supposed to protect children from Sexual Offences and not criminalize them. The reality of the matter is that teenagers they do commit sexual activities from as early age of 12, so do we need to discourage them or teach them about sexual activities? We are living in wolrd where technology drive access to knowledge and information. Teenagers without consent of parents they do have access to explicit content that drivies them to have sextext & this lead them to have sex in schools.

Charging of the three chidren at Jules High School, I think this is the appropriate move to discourage children from having sex under age of 16. This is a strong message that will enable children to behave at schools and not commit adultory. Yes they will hide them and still have sex but they will know that if they can be caught they will be charged.
