Criminal activity to have sex at aged between 12 & 16 years

According to a section of the Sexual Offences Act No. 32 of 2007, consexual sex between children aged 12 to 16 is a criminal activity. The type of a law has resulted in three children at the Jules High School being charged with a statutory rape. The Children Rights groups are challenging the constitutionality of this laws.

Some people do believe that these children were not supposed to be charged. The reason being is that the law was supposed to protect children from Sexual Offences and not criminalize them. The reality of the matter is that teenagers they do commit sexual activities from as early age of 12, so do we need to discourage them or teach them about sexual activities? We are living in wolrd where technology drive access to knowledge and information. Teenagers without consent of parents they do have access to explicit content that drivies them to have sextext & this lead them to have sex in schools.

Charging of the three chidren at Jules High School, I think this is the appropriate move to discourage children from having sex under age of 16. This is a strong message that will enable children to behave at schools and not commit adultory. Yes they will hide them and still have sex but they will know that if they can be caught they will be charged.

Free Education a key to alleviate povery

I like this one...Malema said "South Africans could vote until they turn purple.......if you dont have economic power, that vote is meaningless". I am with you Malema, the State is offering free Education, yet there are no resources such as "computer labs & libraries" in the public school, no equal education for learners due to the fact that there are no funds. When will there black community have their own school library that will enhance their learning? This is a big question that is running to the black child...What is transformation? we have been in liberty for a long time, yet some people are still living under deprived situations.

Are we experiencing the fading of profession Teaching

The fact is profesion of a teaching is the one that develops and shape our country. The government and the world preach that education is power and key to alleviate power. To achieve this song or a goal, a teacher is used as a vehicle. However, the poor teacher's at the end are renumerated peanuts. I called this peanuts because "Teachers" cannot afford to buy house, clothes for their children, cars and etc.....very painfully you found a teacher renting a backroom in a township with one of his or her learner.....

Our State is really not taking care of our beloved Teachers! How do u pay teachers peanuts and suddenly you expect them to deliver quality education and produce future Doctors, Engineers and many professional. Do we see a teaching as calling to poverty or will we say teachers are passion about teaching? how do u motivate a young leaner to study teaching?

In the near future I realy see South Africa facing brain draining of the teachers(teachers moving to other countries for greener pastures) and shortage of teachers (as people will now be scared to study profession of teaching as they will be trapped into poverty).

Let the government give teachers what is due to dm...... and by doing so we can proudly say Education is a key to alleviate poverty (1) because profession of teaching will not fade but our teachers will be motivated and encouraged to continue doing their lovely work, (2)they will be able to deliver quality education, (3)Sector Education & Training Authority (SETA) will see many people becoming teachers. (4) The country will not have high rate of school leavers and unemployment will decrease.

Let the governement used this opportunity as a way to acknowledge teachers!!!

Media tribunal and Protection of information bill

What happen to our freedom of speech and expression, and free access to information? Do we want to confess the notion that history repeat itself? What type of society do we want to build (a democratic and informed society or society that lives under a dark cloud, where we see our leaders hide information)?

A south Africa has moved from an apartheid error to a democratic society (some they have even went further to say democracy alone is not enough and there is a lack of Civilocity- Civilocity is a form of government where people watch a ruler entirely. Meaning that people are able to watch all of the activities of a leader 24/7 & the president is able 2 share information with its followers frequently). A healthy state or government is the one that build learning, sharing and informed society, it should be transparent enough, accountable, build open society and provide free access to information, and also allow freedom of expression and speech.

Media has payed a vital role to provide access to information and exposed corrupt officials and government leaders, by doing so they inform society about the actions of our government leaders. Our society is faced by leaders who are hungry to pay themselves in the expense of ordinary citizens. For example, why do we have to have leader’s who owned company(s) and spontaneously are expected to deliver service delivery to the communities?

The Protection of Information Bill is a drafted Bill that is intends to replace Protection of Information Act No. 82 of 1982. According to the Protection of Information Bill “Any Head of the state (the Minister) has to classify information and may be classified as confidential, secrete and top secret”. Anyone who publishes classified information may face an imprisonment for a period of 25 years. Let the government shelve the protection of information bill and do its job by focusing on enhancing service delivery. Democracy works if information is freely accessible.

Why lives of blacks have to be rested at risk?

Twenty July 2010 South Africa & the world were astonished by the groundbreaking research on HIV prevention done by Centre for the Aids Programme of Research in South Africa (CAPRISA). The leaders around the globe congratulated the researchers at CAPRISA. Women and men around South African & the world at large welcomed the results of a CAPRISA. This day will be remembered as one of those days that history were made in South Africa & be recognised by the world at large.

CAPISA 004 was a study designed to explore whether turnofovir gel could prevent HIV infection. CAPRISA study involved 889 rural women & South African Women (ages 18 to 40 years), all of this women were sexually active & HIV negative. According to FHI & CAPRISA (2010) “If the gel comes to market, all users of the product will need to know that the gel does not provide full protection against HIV”. The talk is now that the state is going to take every possible step to make sure that the gel is available to every woman.

There are numerous questions raised by the study and many people will think that I am ignorant, yet I will be rasing the questions that seek truth.

Even though that this are ground-breaking news, the reality is why study has been conducted in area that is dominated by high rate of poverty, unemployment, and where women are vulnerable and victims of abuse and rape?

Before the conduction of the study, are all of these women being told about the consequences of the study? Where they involved because they were told that they will receive incentives? Or was it just a voluntary action of those women hoping to save the world?

Why study has to take hundreds of black vulnerable women who are HIV negative and then wait for a “statistical momentous” number of them to be come HIV positive in order to draw a conclusions. This is really shocking and impertinence to the lives of black. How do we sworn the study as ground breaking news, while more than half of women who have participated are now left with HIV-positive?

The major question that will remain in heads of those who have heard about the study is, what will happen to those women who are now left HIV- positive????

Why these methods have been tested among blacks only, do we see blacks as people who cannot control themselves???? The idea of CAPRISA gel operates in a same logic of circumcision as HIV prevention methods that are persuaded among blacks.
