Equal Education far to be reached

Matric's at Independent Schools Scored BIG, the schools are made of +/- 8000 learners. Some received 10 out of 10 (meaning they have received disticntion on everything they have road). Well done to these matriculants, who have worked hard throught the year last year! Even though they have scored BIG, there are big question's running on my mind; where they having best teachers who are dedicated, passionate and eligible to provide them with quality education? Are their schools have adequate infrastructures (i.e. well equiped class rooms, Laboratory, Libraries & Computer labs with Internet)? Do their class rooms conducive enough to enhance learning? Does infrastructure matter nor potential of a learner is that viatal? what has contributed to their near-perfect score of their matric results?

This coming Thursday (06.01.2011) matric results for government schools will be released, this are highly antipated results that belongs to majority of learners in South Africa. This will also be the results that will change their live's. The fact that Education is a key/deliverable to alleviate poverty, not all of matriculants will be fortunate enough to go to Universities, Tertiaries or FET colleges. However, they will add to number of youth who are neitheir studying nor employet.

The researchers highlight that is not going to be easy for a person hodling only a matric certificate to be employed during this economy. Many of our brothers and sisters from higher educations will also be graduating this year, quarter of them will be employed while others will remain unemployed.

It's very imperative that before we say's 2011 Matric results for government schools (rememeber this schools are formed by +- 500 000 learners) has dropped by 2% or any percent we consider resources they have. Yes people will also talk that the matric results has dropped because Teachers went to strike and because of World Cup Events but before the Minister of Basic Education and others can complain there is much that needs to be done on the ground level. The state has to ensure that Education reources are equaly shared, by making sure that public school has adequate infrastructure and teachers that are well treated by employer.

Free Education a key to alleviate povery

I like this one...Malema said "South Africans could vote until they turn purple.......if you dont have economic power, that vote is meaningless". I am with you Malema, the State is offering free Education, yet there are no resources such as "computer labs & libraries" in the public school, no equal education for learners due to the fact that there are no funds. When will there black community have their own school library that will enhance their learning? This is a big question that is running to the black child...What is transformation? we have been in liberty for a long time, yet some people are still living under deprived situations.

Are we experiencing the fading of profession Teaching

The fact is profesion of a teaching is the one that develops and shape our country. The government and the world preach that education is power and key to alleviate power. To achieve this song or a goal, a teacher is used as a vehicle. However, the poor teacher's at the end are renumerated peanuts. I called this peanuts because "Teachers" cannot afford to buy house, clothes for their children, cars and etc.....very painfully you found a teacher renting a backroom in a township with one of his or her learner.....

Our State is really not taking care of our beloved Teachers! How do u pay teachers peanuts and suddenly you expect them to deliver quality education and produce future Doctors, Engineers and many professional. Do we see a teaching as calling to poverty or will we say teachers are passion about teaching? how do u motivate a young leaner to study teaching?

In the near future I realy see South Africa facing brain draining of the teachers(teachers moving to other countries for greener pastures) and shortage of teachers (as people will now be scared to study profession of teaching as they will be trapped into poverty).

Let the government give teachers what is due to dm...... and by doing so we can proudly say Education is a key to alleviate poverty (1) because profession of teaching will not fade but our teachers will be motivated and encouraged to continue doing their lovely work, (2)they will be able to deliver quality education, (3)Sector Education & Training Authority (SETA) will see many people becoming teachers. (4) The country will not have high rate of school leavers and unemployment will decrease.

Let the governement used this opportunity as a way to acknowledge teachers!!!
